Machine structural deformation

  • Criticality

All equipment undergoes inevitable deformations, due to thermal and mechanical strain, which may be the cause of deviations in plate positioning (+/- 200 µm). Such high values can be responsible for printing register problems.

  • Solution

The TPMM has been developed in order to achieve optimum mounting precision (+/- 100 µm). For this reason, the machine features a very strong structure and measurement and alignment of mechanical parts with highly advanced laser instruments.

Data transmission

  • Criticality

Normally plant equipment don’t have direct access to the ERP and MRP systems and therefore they don’t always benefit from such data

  • Solution

The specific software designed and developed by BiesSse can be linked to any information system available at the customer’s site.
The complex operation of linking all data and relevant communication protocols is conducted entirely by a BiesSse dedicated software.

Mounting precision

  • Criticality

During manual mounting operations, the positioning of the plate may not be completely stable and also it may be difficult for the operator to identify exactly the center of the markers to be matched with the reference markers

  • Solution

The TPMM system is capable of placing the plates on the sleeves with a precision held within +/- 100 µm.
This is controlled by a technologically advanced algorithm which identifies the center of the markers with micrometric precision (+/- 3 µm), and operates in combination with a high precision camera system.

Process repeatability

  • Criticality

In manual mounting operations usually it is more difficult to keep precision tolerances under control, and therefore this causes problems connected with process repeatability.

  • Solution

The BiesSse TPMM features a completely automatic system with tolerances which are held within a few µm during all the stages of plate identification, algorithm calculation and plate positioning.
The system allows a steady repeatability of the process in time, avoiding any possible discrepancy caused by the operator.

Traceability

  • Criticality

A proper traceability system is normally lacking in the pre-mounting stage of the entire print process.
Reference codes hand-written by operators on the sleeve or the plates are normally used with obvious risks of errors and loss of the history of the order.

  • Solution

The BiesSse TPMM features a supervision system tracing each stage of the process which memorises all information regarding the order, the material and machine used, the operator and any possible problems occurred during the entire process. All data are stored in a SQL (Structured Query Language) database, so that they can be used by the operator  later on if needed.
This means that the process can be traced at any time. The system automatically prints the labels showing the details of the operations, once the sleeves are mounted.

Safety and easy handling

  • Criticality

Automatic equipment normally incorporates complex devices to protect operators from physical damage.
Such devices inevitably slow operations down and make the process less flexible.

  • Solution

The protection laser devices incorporated in the TPMM are highly advanced and are capable of assisting the operator so that operations are easily conducted in absolute safety.
